Your tasks

In December 2022, our company was acquired by our company. Our company provides services in the carbon markets, sustainability, life-cycle analysis, carbon footprint of products, and forestry and natural climate solutions. Our company is one of the most highly regarded carbon and sustainability assurance companies in North and South America. Our company is based in Grand Junction, CO with regional offices located in Grass Valley, CA and Mexico City, as well as satellite offices throughout the U.S. Job description: The full-time position provides the opportunity to join our growing GHG assurance and consulting business. This position will support and eventually lead the validation and verification of blue carbon, cropland, grassland, rangeland and other natural climate solution projects. Job duties and expectations include: Participating as a team member on GHG reduction project validation and verifications to assist with technical data review, data analysis, document review, site visits to projects and report writing. Supporting audits of corporate GHG inventories, sustainability reporting and carbon neutrality assessments as needed for activities relating to natural climate solutions. Candidate must be collaborative, a quick learner, have strong written and verbal communications skills, possess a commitment to excellence, and the ability to work independently. Candidate must also be able and willing to travel throughout the world (primarily North and South America) for work assignments. Candidate will have the opportunity to become a Lead Auditor and manage their own projects and clients in the future. Location: Ideally located at our company's main office in Grand Junction, CO for one-two years, but is open to remote options for certain candidates.

Your qualifications

Required Qualifications: B.S. or Advanced Degree in agriculture science, environmental sciences, soil science, conservation, or related field providing experience in biogeochemical processes. Knowledge of soil organic matter dynamics, biogeochemistry, and agricultural ecosystems. Experience with ArcGIS or QGIS. Experience with spatial statistics, modeling, and software tools. Ability to perform audits, data analysis, complex calculations, understand regulations and standards, and draft technical reports. Possess excellent organizational skills related to time management, client interaction, and project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Advanced skills in standard software packages including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in one or more soil biogeochemical models (DNDC, DayCent, etc.) Experience with carbon offset programs, protocols and methodologies, such as the ACR (formerly American Carbon Registry), Climate Action Reserve (CAR), Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Standard (CCB), Gold Standard, or Verified Carbon Standard (VCS). Experience in blue carbon, coastal wetlands, or mangroves. Experience with sustainability/carbon advisory. Spanish language proficiency.
