McLaren Health Care Information Technology Network Engineer Senior - McLaren Careers in Grand Blanc, Michigan

Position Summary:

Serves as a senior technical leader in network services, providing guidance to other network engineers and consulting across technology services.

Responsible for the management of network environments in a large enterprise. Responsibilities include managing the full lifecycle of network infrastructure while applying creativity and industry best practices. Day to day activities include network operations (incident, problem, change, configuration) and project work (architecture, design, planning, implementation).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities as Assigned:

  • Leads operational projects within the network domain

  • Architects, designs and implements new platforms and enhancements to the existing network, including but not limited to:routers, switches, access points and load balancers.

  • Responsible for operational support, maintenance, administration, and configuration management for network infrastructure.

  • Resolves complex issues involving a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to: routing, switching, system & storage connectivity, voice, and security

  • Works with carriers and configures/troubleshoots Internet, Broadband, MPLS, SD-WAN and other WAN circuit types and equipment.

Qualifications:

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma and 12 years experience in IT operations

OR

Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 10 years experience in IT operations

OR

Bachelor’s degree Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering; and 8 years experience in IT operations

Required Specific Experience:

  • 8 years hands on, demonstrable experience in threeor more of the following technologies: Cisco, HP, Aruba, Palo Alto, Brocade, Checkpoint, SolarWinds, F5, Citrix Netscaler, Microsoft.

  • 7 years’ experience supporting enterprise networks and/or large data center environment.

  • 5years’ (II 2+)design and implementation of layer2/layer3 routing and switching on Cisco IOS.

Ability to travel to other McLaren subsidiaries as needed
