S&SO Produce Farms LLC Agriculture Equipment Workers in Goshen, New York

1 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Job available 2/20/2024 - 12/2/2024.

Duties: May drive and operate farm trucks and tractors. Lod agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks for market delivery and/or storage facilities. Manually seed, plant, transplant, cultivate, irrigate, and harvest by hand and machine agricultural commodity including but not limited to: onions, cilantro, herbs, hemp, forage crops, vegetables, and other produce.

Duties include yard clean-up and maintenance, field preparation by tilling soil, applying fertilizers, applying spray, mulching, applying and removing plastic, field drainage, stripping and drying, transplanting, weeding, thinning and pruning in the fields and/or greenhouses.

Use hand tools including but not limited to clippers, hammer, shovels, and knives. Repair, maintain, clean, sanitize farm vehicles, tractors and implements and equipment, and buildings used in processing produce.

Construct trellises, repair fences and farm buildings. Construct and repair pallets, boxes and storage containers. Sort, dump, grade, clean and pack produce in farm building. Lift, move, and place pallets. Work requires standing, sitting, kneeling and lifting up to 75lbs. on a consistent basis throughout the day. While working in the field cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only.

Employer may conduct/require random drug or alcohol tests at employers expense after hiring, for the safety of themselves and others as they will be operating machinery. Failure to comply with request or testing positive will result in termination. Due to health and safety concerns on our farm workers must understand basic instruction in English.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 6 months of verifiable experience in performing the tasks described.
  • Lifting requirement of 75 lbs. on a consistent basis throughout the day.
  • Extensive sitting, repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, extensive walking
  • Frequent stooping.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Employer may conduct random drug tests at employers expense after hire.
