Toyon Research Corporation Signal Processing Engineer (Ref #2416-P) in Goleta, California

U.S. Citizenship is Required.Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance required.

This position is in-person.

Toyon has openings for technical researchers to develop/implement, test, and analyze algorithms that solve real-world problems in the areas of estimation and control. Minimum background includes familiarity with probability and random processes, and linear algebra. Preferred candidates have familiarity with estimation methods (least-squares, Kalman filters) and linear system theory. Algorithms may be prototyped in MATLAB or Python with potential implementation in C++. Must be able to work independently but willing to engage collaboratively in technical discussions with other technical staff members.

Requirements

Candidates for the Signal Processing Engineer position should have a strong background in engineering, physics, and/or mathematics combined with competent programing skills.

  • M.S./Ph.D. degree in an Engineering, Physics, or Math program
  • Ability to prototype algorithms in MATLAB or Python (C++ a bonus)
  • Strong problem-solving/analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas/analyses in discussions, documents, and briefings

Experience to Highlight on an Application:Estimation Theory: Tracking, Information Fusion, State estimation techniques (e.g. Kalman Filters, particle filters)

The annual pay range for the Signal Processing Engineer position is $100,000 to $170,000.

The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidates education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
