Actalent R&D Pilot Plant Technician in Golden Valley, Minnesota

Description:

The Operations Technician role involves setting up, sanitation and running equipment for new food production trials. He or she exhibits strong customer service in support of various ITQ platforms as a partner and technical expert. This is in an R&D environment where you will be working with exclusive and trademarked food products and manufacturing pilot plants.

This position will involve heavy lifting of 50lb bags for mixing with industrial mixers, setting up pilot plants using hand tools, and will be working in an industrial, blue-collar environment.

Execute and document tests, panels and minor experiments.

Procure and manage materials; manage and maintain pilot plant spaces; basic equipment setup, tear down, sanitation.

Safely operates large equipment (including mixers, valves, pumps, etc), understands food safety requirements and ability to perform risk assessments.

You will be assisting a Product Development team to create a variety of food products on a production line. They will be responsible for determining the production set up, verifying the finished products, and changing the production set up over trials. You will be helping them to run the pilot plant effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Education/Degree Requirements:

2-Year Science Degree or 4 year science degree and some exposure to food science/dairy science/nutrition or related coursework with a desire to work in a production environment

OR

High School Degree w/1-3 years of relatable experience in production/machine operation/labor roles/warehouse.

  • Experience in food production is a BIG plus but not required.

  • Candidates with military experience is also a plus
