Title Advanced Practice Provider - Neurosurgery Category Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers Location Golden Valley Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time Shift Days Work schedule Req Number PHY-24-00007 Open Date 9/26/2024 Description We are seeking a part-time Advanced Practice Provider to work with MCN's affiliate organization, US Neurosurgery Associates. Under the direction of the neurosurgeon, this individual provides health care services to neurosurgery patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting which includes the operating room, Intensive Care Unit, neurosurgery nursing unit, and clinic. Obtains or updates patient history and performs physical examinations. Performs or orders diagnostic tests and interprets results. Administers therapeutic procedures such as wound care. Instructs patients on prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance. Provides first-assist function in cranial, neurovascular, and spine surgeries and independently performs minor surgical procedures as approved by attending physician. This position is flexible, 15-25 hours per week: 6-8 hours per day on Thursday and Friday, with choice of working Mon, Tues or Wed. Will also including rounding on a weekend approximately once per month. Position Requirements Master's degree from Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with certification and current license required. Experience with neurosurgery preferred. Candidates must possess excellent clinical skills and be able to function with a high level of autonomy. Must also be self-motivated and detail-oriented; and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with electronic health record required, Epic preferred.
