The expected annual salary range for this role is $128250.0 - $188100.0 a year.

Job Summary:

Eaton Research Labs (ERL) is currently looking for a Technology Manager – Grid Intelligence to join our team in Golden CO. The primary role of this position is to manage team of engineers and scientists specializing in power distribution grid and lead number of relevant R&D efforts. Relocation assistance and future work visa sponsorship will be provided, if needed.

Position Overview:

The ERL is a corporate R&D function within Eaton's Chief Technology Office, responsible for innovative and breakthrough technology development and commercialization for Eaton products and service solutions.

The technology manager will be responsible for managing a team of scientists and engineers specializing in distribution system analysis, control, protection and cyber security, with the principal goal of identifying, developing, and justifying commercialization of significant growth opportunities for diverse Eaton businesses. The successful candidate should oversee grid related technology research and development projects.

The Technology Manager is expected to identify significant business opportunities to leverage those advances and drive the realization of those opportunities for growth within Eaton. The manager will be responsible for meeting the schedule, scope, cost and technical targets for the research and development efforts, as well as developing and managing customer relationships with Eaton business leaders and stakeholders and maintaining a sound business case for the project portfolio.

The Technology Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the external technical community and academia and leveraging these partnerships for significant advancements in research in grid operation and control domains.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution with minimum seven (7) years of relevant industrial and/or management experience; .... OR .... Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution with minimum ten (10) years of relevant industrial and/or management experience.

• Demonstrated strong expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas: Power Grid Protection; Distribution Automation; Grid Planning, Operation, Simulation and Analysis; Cyber Security for Distribution Systems; Grid Edge Control.

  • This role requires working on-site daily at our Golden, CO facility. Relocation (within US Only) and/or Visa assistance is available for qualified candidate.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a line manager leading and managing people.

• Experience in leading large project teams as principal investigator.

• Experience in program management, new technology development & innovation process.

• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple research areas in grid applications.

• Experience in incorporating cutting-edge research into industrial applications.

• Collaborative orientation. The ability to succeed in a highly team-oriented environment.

• Ability to coach and develop a team.

• Ability to drive inclusion and diversity culture.

• Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in dealing with management, employees, customers, and suppliers. Senior management level communication and presentation skills.
