Engineering a world of possibilities The Nuclear Science and Engineering Center within the Chemistry department at Colorado School of Mines is hiring for a Post-Doctoral Fellow.
A Post-Doctoral Fellow is needed to conduct solvent extraction experiments with actinide metals and synthesize ligands for solvent extraction work.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Design and complete solvent extraction experiments with actinides. Synthesize ligands used in solvent extraction experiments. Analyze solvent extraction data using radiometric counting techniques. Contribute to technical reports. Contribute to published manuscripts. Work safely in a radioactive materials laboratory.
Additional responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned including designing system components, troubleshooting experimental designs, contributing to technical reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: PhD in chemistry with experience in analytical chemistry and/or inorganic chemistry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques, data analysis, and error analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Education and Experience: Experience with dispersable radioactive materials and working with radioactive materials in general is desirable Synthetic experience Proficiency in radiometric counting is desirable
