Cogent, is a growing company serving the contractor, municipal and industrial markets providing dewatering systems. If you have a great attitude and like to work in a progressive fast-paced environment, we want to talk with you.

We are currently looking for individuals to fill ourLaborer/Yard Attendantroles inDenver, Kansas City, and St. Louis. In this position, you will be responsible for loading and unloading pumps, hoses, and other pump-related accessories on and off of Cogent delivery trucks and third-party freight carriers while maintaining a clean and orderly yard environment to enable safe and efficient movement of motorized loading equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify and pull hoses, pipes, and fittings to fulfill rental and sales contracts.

  • Work in cooperation with material handlers to safely load equipment on and off trucks and trailers.

  • Assist in securing load utilizing straps and chains or other securement methods.

  • Ensure yard and loading areas are clear of debris and trash; accessories and equipment are organized and easy to access.

  • Follow all safety processes and procedures and maintain a ‘Safety First’ approach when completing daily work tasks.

  • Will be responsible to complete all paperwork associated with this position.

  • There is a high level of responsibility in this position.

  • The pace of work for this position is moderate to high, you must be able to multi-task, while also taking initiative with current and upcoming tasks and projects.

  • There is travel with overnight stays that may be required for this position.

Work Environment

  • Yard: Continual exposure to all outdoor weather conditions; exposure to noise and fumes generated from motorized equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent heavy lifting up to 90 pounds

  • Full range of physical motions associated with general labor work continually throughout 8 hours

Work Schedule

  • The typical work schedule for this position consists of 8 hours a day and 5 days a week.

  • Overtime and weekend work are probable.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • The desired candidate will also be highly motivated, willing to challenge and improve the Company’s existing processes, and must be adaptable to perform other duties as needed.

  • Ability to follow directions and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work flexible hours in order to respond to customer emergencies.

  • Ability to read, write legibly and communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.

  • Basic computer skills, email, word, excel

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Driver’s License required.

  • High school or general equivalency degree

  • Forklift certification is preferred, but not necessary.
