ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company Sr. Classification Specialist in Remote,

Responsible for hiring efforts for Management, Administrative, and Professional positions for Federal Agencies. Performs complex Position Classifications for General Schedule (GS) and Wage Grade (WG) positions to ensure that a well-regulated classification program is maintained.

  • Prepares position evaluation reports and communicates actions that must take place as a result of position classification/management determinations.

  • Develops position descriptions utilizing appropriate formats, assigns positions to the appropriate technical, scientific or administrative group(s) and determines appropriate grade level based on the application of classification protocol and standards outlined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Department.

  • Ensures position description and classification data are maintained in Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).

  • Follows staffing processes to include, receiving field hiring needs, posting job opportunity announcements, tracking receipt of applications, reviewing qualifications of candidates and determining eligible applicants, extending conditional offer, tracking pre-employment drug testing and background investigation and extending final job offer.

  • Reviews the Request for Personnel Action (RPA) and supporting documentation for completeness; engaging the Field locations to address incomplete submissions and to ensure a cohesive understanding of the position.

  • Ensures a library of Standard Field MAP position Job Opportunity Announcements (JOAs), is maintained and updated on a regular basis.

  • Maintains an organized, systematic library of questions accessible by both authorized contractor staff and government personnel.

  • Reviews applications for eligibility based upon submission of required documents, and designates the eligibility determination for each application received in the hiring system. Pre-employment requirements will include, but are not limited to Selective Service Requirements, Citizenship, and Veterans’ Preference.

  • Provides determination of qualified and eligible applicants for Standard Field positions, based on a variety of tools (e.g., task-based, written cognitive and non-cognitive examination, physical ability tests and psychological assessments) based on the evaluation criteria of the position to be filled.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, or a related field.

  • 5-10 years of Human Resources classification experience, preferably in the government sector.

Other Job Specific Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to talk on the phone with ease and confidence.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications and applicant tracking systems.

  • A strong understanding of federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

  • Must have the ability to read, interpret and analyze Federal documents to ensure that a well-regulated classification program is maintained.

  • Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships and work well as part of a team.

  • Experience staffing for Federal Management, Administrative, and Professional Positions.

  • Experience managing staffing processes, in a high-stress, national environment.

  • Monitor service quality and deliver against requirements within given SLAs.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, complex, and deadline-oriented environment.

  • Must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques.
