Amentum Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Technician in Ferijah,

Job Summary:

The Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Technician maintains and repairs electronics such as radios, communications switches, Land Mobile Radios, towers, repeaters and antennas.

Principal Accountabilities:

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

• Perform installation and adjustments of communication systems

• Inspect radio communications activities, troubleshoot issues, and determine equipment operational status within the LMR Network

• Test, align, and adjust equipment; replace and repair faulty components, and requisition materials as needed

• Maintain equipment maintenance records, authorized spare parts, supply stock, tool lists, and technical manuals; Establish maintenance requirements for support equipment, tools and spare parts needed to support repair effort

• Provide technical guidance to subordinate personnel

• Perform comparison checks on repaired equipment in accordance with test standards

• Consult layout drawings to ensure equipment is properly positioned

• Perform other qualified duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills:

• The candidate must be able to operate standard LMR testing, repair and diagnostic equipment such as RF signal generators, RF antenna testers RF watt meters, Digital multi-meters, Communications System Analyzers, soldering stations and irons, basic hand tools, encryption key-loaders, battery maintenance systems, climbing safety equipment use/inspection and redundant solar and wind generators

• Excellent oral and written communication skills; must speak and understand English in order to coordinate movement on ramp via two-way radios

• Ability to translate communication needs of employees not versed in radio applications, use and field user level integration

• Proficient in Microsoft computer operating systems and Microsoft Office software

• Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment

Experience & Education:

• High School Diploma/or equivalent and must possess at least 3 years of experience operating, maintaining, installing, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing radio systems such as but not limited to P25 repeaters, fixed, vehicle mounted & portable radios.

• Valid U.S. Driver’s License

• Candidate must possess and maintain a US Secret security clearance

• Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment

Must be a US Citizen.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

• Ability to lift at least forty (40) pounds and assist in lifting up to one hundred (100) pounds

• Candidate must be capable to climb towers 100 feet above ground level “Tower certification is a plus”

• Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable

• Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions

• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

• Candidate must be in good physical and mental health, and free of any physical and mental disabilities that will prevent them from performing their duties. They must possess vision correctible to 20/30, be free of color blindness, and be capable of hearing normal conversations at 5 meters with either ear or without a hearing aid.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
