Financial Analyst – CFM Fairfax, VA

Fast-growing IT-services firm working with the Federal Government is seeking a Financial Analyst in the metro D.C. area. This position will report to the Manager of Client Financial Management. The Financial Analyst will analyze past and present financial data, estimate future revenues and expenditures, and collect, monitor, and study financial data in order to recommend actions. This position will work closely with multiple teams and requires strong communication skills, analytical analysis skills, as well as an understanding of the federal procurement process. The Financial Analyst will be working in a dynamic environment with career advancement opportunities.

Job Descriptions:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual bottoms-up cost and revenue forecasts at a project and organizational level

  • Assist with maintaining rolling forecasts and quarterly outlook for small to mid-sized programs

  • Develop reports and presentations for monthly and quarterly reviews with program and senior management

  • Serve as finance lead on monthly subcontractor accruals and assist with subcontractor accrual reconciliation

  • Assess company performance and lead variance analysis for various stakeholders

  • Work closely with finance, program delivery teams, and indirect support functions

  • Provide timecard support for Project Management and analyze accounting and labor data that drives forecasting and reporting

  • Execute Internal Controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and Federal contract requirements

  • Perform special projects as assigned by finance leadership

  • Creates and maintains complex data models that take raw data sets and transforms them into clean, usable output data sets.

  • Understands advanced and complex dashboards and reports in PowerBI and able to consume and communicate analysis and insights.

  • Recommends measures to improve efficiency, user adoption and/or quality of Data Analytics services and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study required

  • 1-2 years of experience in Program Finance, FP&A, or corporate / public accounting preferred

  • Strong experience in Excel modeling and PowerPoint required

  • Proficient in Sharepoint, Cognos Reporting, and ServiceNow

  • Basic understanding of US GAAP and accrual accounting

  • Costpoint and Cognos experience a plus

  • Prior experience in government contracting, commercial consulting or public accounting preferred

  • Good problem solving skills and the ability to think on one’s feet

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment

  • Ability to work well with others as well as independently with limited supervision
