ITW IT Operations Director in Glenview, Illinois

Based in our Glenview, Illinois global headquarters, the IT Operations Director will work alongside the Corporate IT team and will own the architecture, the build, the implementation, the ongoing support of applications and supporting infrastructure, the portfolio of End User Services, as well as the corporate data center and all campus infrastructure.

A member of the Senior IT Leadership Team, this individual will lead the Corporate IT Operations team and serve on the ITW IT Leadership Council.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide direction, guidance and leadership within a multi-disciplined group of systems professionals comprised of software developers, analysts, database, and network professionals, telecom specialists, hardware professionals and network admins.

  • Drive improvement of capacity to deliver high quality solutions that meet or exceed expectations.

  • Establish the structure, tools and processes required to enforce compliance with software development and licensing practices; while mitigating risks using these elements throughout the life-cycle of applications.

  • Define, establish, measure and monitor attainment of IT service level agreements (SLA) and software quality targets while holding each involved party responsible for their components of the targeted effort.

  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and define associated training plans for infrastructure administration.

  • Define, develop and implement appropriate Configuration Management and Performance Reporting

  • Provide superior customer service for corporate clients through management of KPI driven performance metrics

  • Provide services for migrating and supporting enterprise-wide users on select IT services

  • Ensure infrastructure technology roadmaps are up to date to support technology changes, emerging technologies, technology regulations, cybersecurity protection, in cloud and in virtualized hosting.

  • Establish and maintain close to 100% uptime on audio-visual technologies, conferencing technologies, and end-user related technologies at the campus

  • Identify and sponsor advantageous continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing the capabilities and productivity of the Operations team.

  • Evaluate and effectively deploy internal and external resources; ensure that deliverables provided by each group meet standards and match specifications.

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or information systems is required; Master’s degree in either of these fields or Master of Business Administration with technology as a core component is preferred.

  • 10 years of overall experience managing and delivering IT services and operational excellence including 7 years of successful leadership of an IT team of 6+ members in multiple IT functions

  • In career trajectory, requiring 4 years of hands-on application or infrastructure support and customer support experience

  • Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as KPI driven successful service level agreement accomplishments.

  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.

  • Knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.

  • Demonstrated ability of operational excellence.

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development and project management.

  • Good understanding and technical knowledge of current network and operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards.

  • Tier 2 ERP experience a plus
