WESCO Analyst - Category / Product Management (Hybrid) in Glenview, Illinois

Looking for a fun yet challenging position in a fast-growing team where your efforts can help make an impact to Wesco’s bottom line?

As an Owned Brands Category Analyst/Project Coordinator you will support the day-to-day execution of Owned Brands (OB) Category Management (CM) initiatives and strategies for assigned categories. Focus is on growing the Owned Brands Product Line Portfolio through internal sales advocacy while reducing organizational spend and increasing product margin.

You will be responsible for supporting Category Management (CM) with our private label product strategy planning, sourcing, marketing and project management. You will assist with, and occasionally lead, product optimization efforts and new product onboarding. You will help manage assigned supplier relationships, providing increased value for both the company and the supplier. You will work cross-functionally to identify new product opportunities and obtain sales buy-in and alignment in an effort to increase profitability of the category.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports OB CM (Owned Brands Category Management) initiatives via cross-functional collaboration with Owned Brands Sourcing Team to conduct new product opportunity assessments, benchmarking, and cost modeling to develop new owned brands product opportunities.

  • Supports development of an optimized Product Assortment Sales Strategy

  • Supports OB CM team by preparing reports, analyzing data and preparing presentations.

  • Assists in supplier and internal sales meeting preparations involving data gathering, product research and presentation development.

  • Prepares category improvement projections and conduct post-implementation inventory and cost analysis.

  • Works with the supplier onboarding team and suppliers to gather necessary documentation to onboard across all Wesco platforms.

  • Supports OB CM in the development of supplier performance/continuous improvement targets and related scorecards

  • Works with Owned Brands Marketing Team to support marketing plan development and execution

  • Engages with internal sales to advocate on behalf of Owned Brands and pitch OB Product Lines

  • Provides OB CM support to Identify, manage and communicate new product introductions.

  • Works with OB CM team to develop a tracking mechanism to report and communicate savings achieved.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree - business, sales, marketing or relevant field is required

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in sales, marketing, purchasing or inventory control

  • Product category management experience/2 years preferred

  • History of success maintaining and developing key relationships/2 years

  • Proficient in Excel and Access

  • Analytical and detail oriented

  • Excellent business and financial acumen

  • Ability to travel minimally, per business needs
