Introduction to BlueOval SK

At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers’ experience. As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence.

Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.

The Production Control Planner at BlueOval SK – BlueOval Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Establishes and implements analytical methods and best practices related to the systems and processes supporting inventory forecasting, purchases, and material controls

  • Monitors and maintains current inventory levels, tracks orders and resolves inconsistency performing causative research and reconciliation prior to preparing reports

  • Collects, performs analysis, and summarizes information of customer demand, sales forecasts, and historical material usage to develop and execute build forecast, inventory control, and delivery trending reports

  • Establish and supervises production scheduling activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect schedules or capacities

  • Develops, implements, and manages cross-functional, fully integrated planning process that incorporates capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material, and associated costs elements.

  • Ensure reports are updated accurately to identify risks in inventory and taking corrective action to avoid stock shortages or negative impacts to the production build plan

  • Use historical data and analytics to develop and execute strategies to meet business growth and improvement requirement

  • Posts daily inventory transactions such as PO receiving, inventory adjustments and negatives

  • Coordinate and work with cross-functional team members to ensure 100% on-time-in-full delivery by establishing and monitoring inputs and critical factors of the schedule to proactively identify and address issues

  • Collaborate and work with cross-functional team members to achieve key performance targets

  • Support cycle count or physical inventory process transactions with balancing inventory general ledger on required basis and investigate, reconcile discrepancies, and negatives

  • Perform data management analysis, and reporting to provide input in setting inventory and other material control metrics

  • Prepare weekly/monthly/annual end reports on scrap, adjustments, trends, and other details as needed per the team’s key performance metrics

  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics, Material Planning and Logistics, Business Administration, or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Minimum of (3-5) years’ experience in using analytical tools

  • Experience in Supply Chain Planning or Inventory Management preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in Common Manufacturing Management System (CMMS) or similar ERP including MRP, MES, or WMS modules

  • Proficient in computer applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)

  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly and salaried personnel, logistics carriers, and production suppliers

  • Ability to support any shift in a 7-day work pattern

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • React well under pressure and be able to work under crisis management

  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability

  • Candidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phase

  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

  • Ability to communicate and teach Supply Chain Planning principles to laymen

  • Competent in the use of data for decision making

Preferred Requirements:

  • APICS CPIM, CSCP or CPSM certification

  • IATF Certified

  • MMOG/LE Experience

  • Policy Documentation and Creation

  • Demonstrated leadership behaviors

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, collaborator, organizational, and communication skills preferred

  • Critical thinking, resourcefulness, confidence, courage and independence

  • Drive for results and sense of urgency

  • Curious and data driven

  • Ability to travel in support of job function (Plants, Customer, Suppliers, etc.)
