BlueOval SK Inventory Control Supervisor in Glendale, Kentucky

At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers’ experience. As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence. Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.

The Inventory Control Supervisor at BlueOval SK – BlueOval Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Utilize the Enterprise Resource System (ERP) Inventory Management System to manage inventory elements (receiving, shipping, supplier/customer communication)

  • Support final balance outs and running changes to customers

  • Correct shipping transactions, monitor and validate production counts and scrap transactions

  • Perform cycle count analysis and control inventory

  • Coordinate the workload of hourly cycle checkers

  • Work with cross functional teams to consistently improve the accuracy of the cycle count program.

  • Complete analysis of Out of Tolerance Cycles with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions for parts in-plant and at the bailments.

  • Complete Cycle Summary Sheet indicating Variances from the same family of parts in order to better understand the relationships between Gross Variances.

  • Present Cycle results to supporting area Team Managers and BOSK Leadership for awareness, understanding, and approval

  • Coordinate special counts to assure actual physical inventory balances match inventory records

  • Assist in managing bailment activities including cycle schedule and count confirmation.

  • Assist in backing up MP&L salaried personnel as required in order to cover vacations, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience (5 – 10 years):

  • Material Planning and Logistics experience desired

  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly and salaried personnel, logistics carriers, and production suppliers

  • Proficient in computer applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)

  • Experience in Common Manufacturing Management System (CMMS) or similar ERP

  • Ability to support any shift in a 7-day work pattern

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • React well under pressure and be able to work under crisis management

  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability

  • Candidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phase

  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics, Material Planning and Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Plant experience is desired but not required

  • Knowledge of Ford Production System (lean manufacturing) is desired, but not necessary

  • Prior experience in materials management functions preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability
