About the Organization:

Engineering Services designs, builds and sustains technology that powers DE&E Technology’s worldwide content production and distribution platforms. In doing so, they contribute to a series of multi-functional services and technologies, including Quality Engineering, Data Analytics, Software Development, Broadcast Infrastructure, and Networking & Security. The Quality Engineering team validates all work before production, including web, mobile, living room applications, media, services, non-consumer-facing products and more.

What You Will Do:

As a member of our team, you will strive to accomplish the following goals:

  • Contributing to the successful implementation of solutions for sophisticated technical problems with DE &ET engineering teams

  • Being responsible for the development and maintenance of one or more functional areas of test automation and tooling, execution environments, build systems and tooling used across multiple products

  • Contribute to the successful design & implementation of one or more project features with guidance from senior engineers

  • Check-in valuable, clean code daily that adds new features and capabilities

  • Becoming a member of our Quality Engineering team, increasing quality through innovation, automated test creation, curiosity, and thoughtful debate.

  • Work with engineering teams to implement a full-stack quality solution.

  • Develop test automation frameworks, CI/CD infrastructures, build systems, and reporting tools to support flagship streaming mobile apps D+ and Hulu.

  • Maintain documentation meant for end-user consumption as well as project contributor documentation.

  • Supplying end-user and developer training on automation tools and frameworks.

  • Investigating and resolving any framework or execution of environmental issues affecting our services.

  • Becoming a core member of our Platform & Date Engineering team, helping others increase productivity through innovation, and championing the core value of Disney Quality

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proficient in object-oriented design and expertise with one of the following programming languages: Swift, Kotlin, Java, or Node.js/TypeScript.

  • Experience with app development, test automation development and/or unit testing for iOS/Android apps.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to use standard Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) tools such as Jira, Confluence, and version control systems (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, etc.).

  • Organized, diligent, and able to deliver project tasks on time.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated, self-starting individual

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering production iOS/Android apps.

  • Experience developing applications in cloud platforms. (e.g., AWS)

  • Experience working with cloud-based testing infrastructures. (e.g., SauceLabs)

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.

  • Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, and continuous integration/delivery systems.

  • Experience writing Gherkin syntax to facilitate the development of automated test scenarios.

  • Experience developing advanced mocking mechanisms. (e.g., rule-based proxies and dummy-services)

  • Experience with test suite/case/run management tools. (e.g., JIRA Xray, etc.)

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $93,400 to $125,200 per year, in New York, NY is $93,400 to $125,200 per year, and in Seattle, WA is $93,400 to $125,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
