Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and leading a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also leads technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities

  • This role will be responsible for the research, planning, validating, and publishing localization and servicing schedules for Disney+, Hulu, Broadcast, EST, SVOD, and other clients. Also responsible for negotiating and providing status updates to key stakeholders.

  • Requires some level of specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise

  • Supports team to solve complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions

  • Co-leads functional teams or projects and serves as a process and quality resource

  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal clients such as Global Content Planning.

  • Coordinates with regional teams (Distribution Operations as well as local programming teams).

  • Lead projects/accounts with high resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity including but not limited to forecast budgets.

  • Applies understanding of digital content distribution concepts and technologies including EHV, TVOD, SVOD, AVOD, PayTV, Hotels, etc.

  • Drives execution and delivery of multiple high-profile accounts (Tier 0 clients).

  • Communicates deadlines and delivery expectations across functional teams for downstream workflow needs.

  • Proposes an innovative solution to problems to senior executive team.

  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends standard processes.

  • Works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations.

  • Works across all territories Distribution Operations: US/CA, EMEA, APAC, LATAM, China, India, etc.

  • Performs extensive research across all inventories, systems, and tools Distribution Operations uses for servicing operations.

  • Leads complex level localization for foreign language dub audio and subtitles.

  • Handles Tier 0 clients (global platforms) as well as Tier 1 clients (domestic platforms) and Tier 2 clients (local/territory platforms).

  • Manages large volume (>500) orders weekly.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have Localization experience and understand the process of creating localized dubbed audio and subtitles.

  • Ability to conduct work assignments with increasing complexity and contributes to team objectives and outcomes that are largely operational.

  • Considered developed and skilled and proficient in handling content distribution related projects with moderate supervision.

  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and a willingness to adjust as needed.

  • Critical thinking and the ability to focus on long-term scalability and growth of the business.

  • Clear written and verbal communication and the ability to command a room.

  • Communicates effectively developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

  • A collaborative spirit, especially as an expert at getting things done, and a high degree of comfort communicating with executive level business partners.

  • Decision Quality, ability to make good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.

  • Ability to dissect workflows and make tool recommendations that lead to more efficient and effective processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 5+ years of dynamically complex related experience in the digital distribution space required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cultivates Innovation, ability to create new and better ways for the organization to be successful.

  • Familiarity with production and post-production workflows and UHD, HDR, and Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos technologies.

  • Ability to question the way we do things and recommend alternative solutions that drive impact for the business.

  • Comfortable using various data management systems and tools (e.g. Google and Microsoft suites, Smartsheet, Airtable, & Tableau).

  • Thorough understanding of data security standard processes a plus.

  • A personal affinity for the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney Company.

  • 3+ years experience with running high profile projects with moderate supervision.

The hiring range for this position in California is $92,700 to $113,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
