CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer Financial Consultant II in Glendale, Arizona

Are you a Financial Consultant who enjoys being responsible for effective configuration, operation, and maintenance of ERP software and related systems? This could be the role for you! The Financial Consultant II acts as a SME for ERP system administration. This role will assist project teams with technical issues in the development of any new improvements, upgrades, or defect resolution efforts. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions.

The successful person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • ERP implementation support including the support of multiple business applications as required including PeopleSoft and Blackline

  • Manage the day to day maintenance of ledger trees, hierarchies, rules, and dimensions

  • Configure the application to meet agreed business requirements, ensuring stakeholders are fully informed on the impact of potential changes

  • Assist with the testing process and organizing UAT with users

  • Use reporting tools to create, develop and maintain reports to monitor data quality and support the reporting needs of the business areas

  • Maintains ERP system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting software, networks and operating and system management systems; designing and running system load/stress testing; escalating application problems to vendor.

  • Secures PeopleSoft system by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing back-ups; maintaining documentation.

  • Performing analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness within sub ledger activity

  • Design and maintain procedures for reconciliations of new and existing accounts

  • Provide guidance for development and implementation of any new interfaces or changes to existing interfaces to GL

  • Manage source system interfaces issues when they occur

Essential Functions:

  • Uses professional concepts in develops resolution to critical issues and broad design matters of the highest degree of complexity (issues cut across functions, require team involvement, require senior leadership participation)

  • Assists accounting group with issue resolution relating to sub ledger activity

  • Provides coaching and assistance to accounting staff.

  • Builds and maintains effective relationships between the business unit(s) and finance.

  • Handles high-level and complex financial and operational analyses by independently reaching out across work groups and divisions to find SME's to manage the work and achieve to alignment and resolution.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet critical deadlines

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid Understanding of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).

  • Knowledge of financial statement preparation and financial analysis techniques.

  • Strong analytical skills needed to structure and conduct analysis and to evaluate and develop logical solutions to accounting issues

  • Ability to challenge, persuade, and influence senior leaders

  • Understanding of the financial dynamics of a P & C insurer and AAA operations and their application to CSAA’s accounting environment.

  • Proficient at facilitation and presentation and strong oral and written communication skills

Education, Work Experience, Licenses & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis on Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience

  • Certified Public Accountant

  • 10+ years previous experience

  • Project and Process Management experience

  • Background in Reconciliation of GL/Financial accounts

Preferred:

  • Corporate accounting experience in a SOX environment

  • PeopleSoft or other large ERP experience

  • Insurance experience is a plus

  • BlackLine Reconciliation Software experience
