Nestle Community and Engagement Coordinator - Contract in Glendale, Arizona

This is a contract position providing services to Nestlé in the USA through a third-party staffing services organization. If you are selected for this role, you will be an employee of a third-party staffing partner and not Nestlé in the USA.

THIS POSITION IS 100% ONSITE

This contract role is expected to pay approximately $30 - $35 per hour.

The Community & Engagement Coordinator will support the overarching communications strategy for the Glendale, AZ location. This position will report through the site Sr. HR Manager with a close tie to the Nestlé USA corporate communications team. This position will be based in Glendale, AZ.

This position will engage with a variety of groups within Nestlé to strengthen storytelling opportunities as well as community engagement efforts.

Core responsibilities will fall into four areas: Community engagement, employee (internal) communications, external communications, and site leadership team support. Priorities within each category include:

Community Engagement

• Help guide strategies of monetary and product donations in the local community.

• Manage employee volunteerism and participation in key local community events.

• Support key company initiatives with local-level activations.

• Support Technical Training and Talent Acquisition teams through engagement with local technical and trade schools and community colleges to help drive interest in Nestlé as an employer of choice.

• Support site newsletter by providing updates and information on local operation and workforce, highlighting key programs and initiatives.

• Serve on Community Relations Committee.

Employee Communications

• Lead development and deployment of local communications strategy and written, video, and visual content creation for the site, including local newsletter, communications goals and change management communications.

• Lead improvements and changes based on site communications surveys and audits.

• Help uphold our high employee engagement standards, including but not limited to:

o Help guide strategy of engaging employees and planning for site celebrations.

o Initiate event planning for employee experience celebrations.

o Support interior and exterior graphics installations.

o Coordinate promotional items for employee experience events.

o Work with HR to promote recognition programs.

• Help prepare for major internal stakeholder visits.

• Serve on Employee Engagement Committee.

• Identify compelling storytelling opportunities to showcase our people, processes, and passion.

• Execute internal communications channel strategy at the site through priority tools and apps.

Storytelling & Thought Leadership Support

• Develop strategy, in partnership with corporate communications, to drive manufacturing thought leadership stories focused on key themes including:

o Manufacturing Month (October)

o Women in Manufacturing

o Advanced technology and innovation

o Sustainability in operations

o Industry leadership

• Work with corporate communications to showcase impact of local manufacturing on Nestlé’s trusted brands and drive civic pride.

• Partner with corporate communications on local activations tied to startup celebrations, site expansion announcements, and other significant milestones as required.

Site Leadership Team Support

• Support Site Leadership Team on major events and routine tasks to support visitors coming to the site.

• Coordinate catering, book event space, and manage site calendar appointments.

• Support management of non-operational spaces such as employee cafeterias, employee store, and front office.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related area preferred.

• Minimum 2 years of work experience in a communications, marketing, or other relevant function.

• Ability to write concise and compelling stories for a variety of audiences.

• Experience in a technical, distribution center, or manufacturing industry preferred.

• Experience with employee communications and relations.
