The Malvern School Sports Summer Camp Specialist 2024 in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania

The Sports Camp Specialist is responsible for the supervision of campers and team members within their groups, the implementation of Sports Camp curriculum, promoting and actively participating in all camp activities, providing a safe and fun camp environment, and serving as a positive role model for summer campers and counselors.

The hours of this full-time, seasonal position are from 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Malvern Day Camp runs from mid June to August 2024.

Responsibilities

-Develop daily lesson plans for the instruction of sports activities appropriate for the age and skill level of individual campers ages 5 – 14.

-Ensure campers develop a progressive skill set in a variety of team & Individual sports by developing lesson plans to include sports drills, fun activities, and recreational competition.

-Ensure all lesson plans place an emphasis on safe play, teamwork, sportsmanship and self-esteem development.

-Sports instruction should include, but is not limited to: soccer, flag football, baseball/softball, basketball & volleyball.

-Maintain involvement in programs including: planning, facilitating, set-up, clean-up and preparation of materials

-Meet with supervisor regularly to plan weekly schedule of activities and ensure the schedule is followed

-Follow the Malvern Day Camp policies and procedures

-Keep inventory of supplies

-Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed

Requirements:

-Previously involved in sports programs

-Previous Children’s sports coach (preferred)

-Previous experience working with children, examples include but not limited to: tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer, or classroom assistant

-Provide fun, educational and safe activities for campers

-Upkeep of Sports equipment

-Work effectively with co-workers

-Serve as a positive role model to campers

-Minimum of 18 years of age

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification (The Malvern School provides and pays for, if needed)

    -Completed Background Checks (FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal)

    -Completed Mandated Report Training
