Measurement Analyst I, II or Senior


The measurement analyst provides support activities to various Measurement Department functions. Support activities includes data analysis, monitoring, investigation and field dispatching. Functions supported include AMI module inventory, meter exchange program, meter shop and measurement field activities.

This position may be filled as Measurement Analyst I, II, or Senior. Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education, and certifications may be eligible for the more advanced position


Functional Expertise:

  • Accountable for tracking, monitoring and reconciling AMI module inventory.

  • Coordinates periodic AMI module inventory counts.

  • Monitors the AMI module RMA process.

  • Process data into asset tracking system.

  • Analyzes and resolves meter and meter data issues.

  • Investigates incomplete or missing data and works with appropriate parties to resolve.

  • Ability to interact with and understand multiple pieces of data across multiple systems (Asset Repository, Click, CCB, Mainframe, FlowGIS, 7I, GCMA, etc.).

  • Fulfill ad hoc requests as necessary (II, III).

  • Gather, interpret, and format data and metrics for presentations for internal and external use (II, III).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Business Acumen:

  • Initiate activities to support the needs and direction of the business (II, III).

  • Evaluate and recommend changes to process when new issues arise.

  • Provide analytical research and problem solving to identify problems, issues, errors and determine root cause (II, III).

  • Utilizes analytical skills to evaluate data for accuracy.

  • Identify and evaluate improvements to systems (II, III).


  • Partner with Management to review business processes; identify gaps and areas for improvement, make recommendations based on findings.

  • Conduct analysis, document findings and communicate to business leaders to drive results (II, III).

  • Follow organizational policies and procedures and ensure compliance.

  • Manage partnerships and relationships within and outside the Measurement department.

  • Partner cross functionally and at all levels of the organization to meet business objectives.

  • Serve as the department lead and provide support in the absence of the supervisor (III).

  • Provide leadership and guidance on complex tasks (III).

Driving Results:

  • Ensure accuracy of work meets departmental goals.

  • Ensure timeliness of work completion meets departmental goals.

  • Ensure timely follow up.

  • Trouble shoot operating issues with applications used by Measurement (II, III).

  • Manage multiple/diverse priorities (II, III).

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)




  • High School diploma or GED.


  • BA/BS Degree.


  • 2 years gas utility experience.


  • Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word.




  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience.

Related Work Experience:


  • 3-5 years combined experience with utilities or other related experience.

  • 2-4 years’ experience analyzing data.


  • 3 years gas utility experience

  • 4-6 years analyzing operational data and supporting business processes.

  • Advanced knowledge of business processes and procedures.

  • Advanced knowledge of business-related systems.

Specific Skill and Knowledge:

  • Strong attention to detail, conceptual analysis.

  • Strong analytical skills/ability to solve problems.

  • Interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Time management.

  • MS Word/Excel – intermediate proficiency.




  • BA/BS Degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or similar field or equivalent work experience.

  • 5-7 years combined experience with utilities or other related experience.

  • 3-5 years’ experience analyzing data.

  • Advanced knowledge of business processes and procedures.

  • Advanced knowledge of business-related systems.

  • Demonstrated experience of analysis and intermediate understanding of the natural gas industry.


  • 6-8 years analyzing operational data and supporting business processes.

  • Demonstrated effective supervisory and team leading competencies.
