Actalent Estimator in Gilberts, Illinois

Actalent is hiring an Estimator to work on the following project:


Architectural-solutions company, focused on acoustic ceilings. We are seeking a Cost Estimator or Jr. Cost Estimator, based in our Elgin facility, to support a growing and profitable business. Will be responsible for the following:

  • This position reviews over quotes, creates accurate cost estimates, and take off drawings based on criteria derived from project documents/information

  • Estimator reviews architectural drawings using AutoCAD and provides the architectural client an estimate of how much their requested product will cost

  • Relay information to product designer

  • Ensure questions are answered during production and installation

  • Responsive to emails

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred but not necessary

  • 2-5 years of experience in AutoCad

  • 2-5 years of experience in Rhino (highly preferred, but not required, they will train)

  • 2-5 years of experience in reading construction documents

  • Experience in any aspect of construction or estimating preferred

  • Strong in computer skills, including file management & organization

  • Knowledge of assembly and part-detailing

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing process a plus

  • Strong customer service
