Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Well Technician I, II or Well Technician III.

The position of Well Technician I, II or Well Technician III reports to the Wells Utility Supervisor. The primary function of these roles is to maintain equipment critical to the production and distribution of water for daily demand and fire suppression. This position operates remote water treatment facilities for arsenic, trihalomethane and disinfection while abiding by county, state, and federal regulations to provide clean and safe potable water to the residents of Gilbert.

Additionally, top candidates for the position will possess a strong work ethic, be able to make well- reasoned, independent decisions. They will possess a record of good punctuality and attendance and strong communication skills. Must be available for On-Call work during nights and weekends, on a rotating shift basis.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.

Candidates for a Well Technician I position must possess the following requirement:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school

  • 1 year of specialized training and experience in potable water production and equipment maintenance

  • Valid AZ Driver's License

  • Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response Certificate (HAZWOPER) within one year of hire

  • ADEQ Grade I Water Distribution Certification - REQUIRED

  • ADEQ Grade I Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification within 6 months of hire - REQUIRED

  • Pay Range for a Well Technician I - $23.15 to $33.57

Candidates for a Well Technician II position must possess the following requirement:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school

  • 3 years of specialized training and experience in potable water production and equipment maintenance

  • Valid AZ Driver's License

  • Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response Certificate (HAZWOPER) within one year of hire

  • ADEQ Grade II Water Distribution Certification - REQUIRED

  • ADEQ Grade II Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification - REQUIRED

  • Pay Range for a Well Technician II - $26.20 to $37.99

Candidates for a Well Technician III position must possess the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)

  • Valid AZ Driver's License.

  • Arizona Grade III Water Distribution Certification at the time of hire - REQUIRED

  • Arizona Grade III Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification at the time of hire - REQUIRED

  • Up to 1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school

  • 4 years of specialized training and experience in potable water production and equipment maintenance

  • Pay Range for a Well Technician III - $27.81 to $40.32
