County of Adams Comprehensive Planner - Transportation in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Are you a skilled planner with a passion for transportation and public administration? The Adams County Office of Planning and Development (ACOPD) is seeking qualified candidates like you! Join our team to provide public administration of transportation projects and planning support for 34 municipalities in Adams County, Pennsylvania and play a pivotal role in shaping the region's transportation future.

Primary Function:

The main function of this role involves performing various planning duties, primarily focusing on transportation planning and public administration while collaborating with other divisions within the department and engaging with local agencies, organizations, municipalities, and state and federal agencies as needed. Minimal fieldwork is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage short and long-range transportation issues, ensuring project success.
  • Develop, coordinate, and analyze transportation plans, studies, and reports.
  • Collaborate with the Adams County Transportation Planning Organization (ACTPO).
  • Implement performance-based planning and programming per federal law.
  • Support public involvement, educate the community on transportation issues.
  • Assist with various transportation planning activities and data analysis.
  • Liaise with the ACTPO Board and provide project updates.
  • Guide municipalities and non-profits, assist with grant preparation and funding.
  • Perform related planning duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1.    A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in planning, public administration, or related field.

  2.    OR two (2) years or more of on-the-job experience in related fields of work.

Compensation: $23.78 per hour
