Planet Technologies Senior M365 Engineer in Germantown, Maryland

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as Senior M365 Engineer . In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country.

This is a role for a Microsoft Cloud Specialist who has great experience with Azure Active Directory or Entra ID. In this role you will work with a new client where you will be one of the primary partners assisting with the growth and configuration of an M365 Environment. This would cover a wide breadth of tasks from technical writing, security assessments, licensing questions, technical configuration.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and build your exceptional understanding of existing and emerging M365 technologies.

  • Leading the technical implementation and the migration of content.

  • Hands on keyboard configuration of tenant and governance policies.

  • Experience in a GCC High or classified environment would be helpful.

  • Functionally moving multiple on prem environments to the cloud (M365 technologies; emails, SharePoint, One-drive etc)

  • Serve as a liaison between the technology and customer requirements and communicate accordingly to achieve desired outcomes.

Skills Required

  • Competency to lead technical and strategic conversations with respect to M365 and can advise partners on complex technical deployments.

  • The ability to successfully migrating multiple sources to a single tenant using Microsoft native tools with PowerShell (must have ability to script)

  • A desire to work both hands on and at a directional level on a key organizational project.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external partners to achieve and maintain long term and meaningful relationships with customers by providing exceptional service in all areas.

  • Previous experience with governance policies and working in a restricted environment.

  • Experience required related to M365 migrations including:

  • Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Entra ID

  • Security and Compliance, Compliance Manager

  • Defender for Windows, Microsoft 365 Defender

Essentials

  • Education: Bachelors Degree OR 3-4 years of comparable experience

  • Citizenship Requirement: US Citizen

  • Clearance Required: Active Top-Secret or DOE Q Clearance

  • Location: On-site in Germantown, MD as required (to access classified networks)
