FIELD ASSESSMENT TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

Scotts Bluff County Assessors Office is accepting applications for a Field Assessment Techniciancentering on data collection. Work involves data collection, data entry and clerical tasks. Otherduties include but are not limited to assisting administration with taxpayer protests, researchingreal property location and ownership; and maintaining public records. A majority of the time in thisposition consists of outdoor field work, sometimes in adverse conditions.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in real estate, appraisal work,construction or any equivalent combination of training and experience would be helpful. Must beable to pass a background check and possess a valid State of Nebraska drivers license. This positionqualifies for Veteran's Preference. Scotts Bluff County is an EEO/AA employer.

A data collection technician is responsible for collecting, recording, and analyzing statistical data.They operate computer equipment to enter data and perform data transfer functions. They are also responsiblefor maintaining and organizing data within the organization. They work with data processingsoftware, database systems and spreadsheets to gather, store and analyze data to ensureits accuracy, completeness, and security.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid State of Nebraska driver's license.

Will be required to pass NIMS (National Incident Management System) training.

Authorize and pass a background check.

Complete all assigned training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform data collection.

Perform data entry and file maintenance activities.

Ensure data is accurate and up to date.

Create and maintain databases and data systems.

Identify and analyze trends or patterns in complex data sets.

Manage data quality control procedures.

Assist administration with maintaining procedures for data collection, data entry and data management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in real estate, appraisal work, constructionor any equivalent combination of training and experience.
