Position Summary : The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPDP) will be accountable and responsible for:

  • Program development and leadership for at least one facet of the Organizational Development Department

  • Facilitate a variety of educational programs encompassing all levels of ability and needs of the organization personnel, especially those requiring clinical expertise

  • Participates in planning and implementation of educational offerings and opportunities

  • Ensure policy and procedures, competencies, equipment and supplies needed for education offerings are current and operational to provide optimal education experience

  • Provide assistance as needed to the overall Organizational Development department initiatives and in general completes other duties as assigned.

  • In addition, all interactions require an exemplary level of core customer service skills and competency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), required.

Master’s degree in Nursing Education (MSN in Education), preferred.

Experience :

Two (2) years’ experience in education and /or administration, preferred.

Three (3) years of recent clinical experience as a registered nurse, required.

Special Skills :

Knowledge of Nursing Professional Development, adult learning theory, evidence-based practice, and measurement of outcomes.

Ability to establish collaborative working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff, and other health care providers

Demonstrated skill in leadership, teaching, education, communication, group dynamics.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

License/Certification :

Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing.

American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the Organizational Development Office are approved by Organizational Development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.

Physical Requirements : Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
