Description of role: Our established healthcare agency is in search of an experienced and compassionate Caregiver who understands the importance of meeting the needs of clients while helping them maintain a high quality of life. We are looking for a committed individual who has impeccable communication skills and is able to problem solve on the spot. Our Caregivers have a reputation for being cheerful and receptive as they administer care to our clients, and we are seeking someone who would be a great fit with our team.Tasks: Providing basic personal care as needed, assisting with personal grooming, including bathing, dental hygiene, use of bedpans and disposal of bedpan waste as needed, Light housekeeping, changing bed linens and towels, clothing and linens laundry, keeping the house tidy Help with meal preparation Help with food shopping (sometimes special diet prescribed for the patient) Running errands for patients, assisting with correspondence Companionship Administering and reminding of oral or topical medications as needed Assisting with mobility, getting in and out of chairs, bathtubs, beds and vehicles Assisting in using canes and walkers Assisting in getting to appointments, especially medical appointments, doctors' offices and other trips outside the home Monitor patient medications and update health charts Maintain open communication between families and health care professionals regarding client's medical and emotional condition Document and report any changes in client's health status Ensure highest client safety and well-beingSkills and Requirements: High school diploma preferred Current and valid Physical Current and valid TB test & results MMR shot records Experience working with the elderly Communication skills Experience and knowledge working with patients who have chronic and acute conditions Ability to problem solve quicklyWork Schedule: Schedule may vary for each case.
