    Experience

    Minimum – At least 1 year of previous cooking experience.

    Preferred – At least 1 year of previous cooking experience under HACCP standards.

    Education

    Minimum – High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

    Preferred - Two years of formal training or education beyond the high school level with culinary concentration. Familiar with health care food service, standards of operation or related field. Ability to read and write English and communicate effectively.

    Responsibility Summary

    Provide and distribute food for patients, residents, and non-patient meals. Meets production schedules, assuring high quality products and preventing food waste. Assists with maintaining organized, clean and sanitary storerooms and coolers. Observes all recipe and HACCP guidelines. Responsible for providing a tray presentation that is neat and clean and appealing to the eye. Follows production and tally sheets accurately to ensure patient/resident satisfaction.

    Essential Functions

  • Use safe & sanitary methods when handling/serving food to prevent food borne illnesses.

  • Complete all required worksheets (food temps, roasted meats cooling process, etc.)

  • Comply with established recipes and portion control guide.

  • Ensure daily calibration along with clean/sanitized storage of thermometer.

  • Maintain assigned area in a safe, clean and sanitary manner.

  • Attend and actively participate in the daily Culinary planning (production) meetings.

  • Attends & actively participates in the employee departmental/safety meetings.

Salary Range: $17.65-$19.50
