Thrivent Financial Paraplanner in Geneva, Illinois

Summary

The Paraplanner position will come alongside our Lead Advisor’s to learn how to create financial plans and soak up firm-specific procedures and processes. Key responsibilities include preparation of financial plans, investment research and analysis, and coordination of client service needs with team members. This position is employed by Sage Path Financial Consultants.

Example work week schedule is Mon/Wed/Thursday 9 am to 5 p.m., Tuesdays 10 am to 7 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Compensation is $35-55,000 annually dependent upon experience and licensure held.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Enter client information into various systems

  • Prepare and update financial plans and presentation material for client meetings

  • Sit in on client planning meetings

  • Enter information into financial planning software and prepare draft financial plans

  • Deepen existing client relationships through processing of client requests, resolving client questions, and making sure client information and documentation are up to date

  • Research and respond to client inquiries

  • Gather and maintain customer suitability information

  • Assist in generating performance reports

  • Maintain information in CRM (Salesforce) system

  • Identify and offer recommendations on how to optimize workflows

  • Develop & manage Financial Planning pipeline & process

  • Provide themed education for planning clients

  • Manage & meet all financial planning compliance requirements

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Advisor

Qualifications

  • Securities (7/66, or 7/63 & 65) and Life, Health, and Annuity registration required

  • Degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation/experience, 2+ years preferred

  • Extremely strong organizational skills

  • Strong writing skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Technical computer aptitude and knowledge of business tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce) or ability to learn

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a high quality of work while experiencing frequent interruptions

  • Ability to maintain integrity of sensitive/confidential information

As part of Sage Path Financial Consultants recruiting/hiring/contracting process, a verification of a candidate's background will be made to complete the process. Fingerprints will be required as part of FINRA registration process for submission to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for review against nationwide fingerprint records.
