County of Gaston Licensed Clinician in Gastonia, North Carolina

The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.

  • Provides/conducts a wide variety of behavioral health screenings (including but not limited to PHQ-9 /Depression, Opioid Risk Assessment, etc.), assessment, diagnostic, brief interventions, consultative, referral, case management/care coordination and evaluation service. Provides individual counseling services, to teens and adults. Maintains compliance with local, state, federal standards/rules, HIPAA standards for Behavioral Health (BH), NC Public Health Law, as well as organizational mission, values, and related policy and procedures.
  • Develops and implements patient centered treatment plans including support of the primary care/comprehensive treatment plan. Maintains clear, accurate, and timely documentation and record keeping in the EHR. Maintains compliance with workflows, agency billing practices for Medicaid and contracted insurance plans, state agreement addenda, and other policies and procedures related to BH. Maintains compliance with local, state, federal standards/rules, HIPAA standards for BH, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provides crisis intervention services and serves as emergency contact for BH issues. Provides patient, community, and agency education related to Integrated Care and BH issues.
  • Serves as part of the healthcare team; provides BH expertise to patients and clinic staff. Provides collaborative and consultative care with the Primary Care Provider as well as any other members of the team, along with participation in team huddles as needed.
  • Providing Smoking Cessation counseling assisting patients with creating Domestic Violence Safety plans, coordinating care with Foster Care, and other duties as assigned.
  • Carryout Performance Management (PM) roles and responsibilities, including identifying and communicating performance improvement opportunities and adjusting performance and practice to achieve established PM goals. May serve on internal committees and/ or external committees related to BH and Integrated Care issues.
  • Disaster Response: Assists the community during emergencies such as natural disasters or bio-terrorism events by delivering services in the field as needed. Participates in disaster preparedness, and any other emergency activities in situations the public's health (i.e., disease outbreak, natural disasters, etc.).
  • Implement strategies aimed at achieving Health Equity, including but not limited to: attending trainings to better understand inequities, identifying and addressing barriers to health, serving on the Health Equity Team or its subcommittees, engaging in internal or external efforts to eliminate health disparities.
Minimum Qualifications

Graduation with a Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field with a current unencumbered license is required. A minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience with a valid CPR License and Driver's License are also required. Will considered LCSW-A or LCMHC-A.

A copy of your unencumbered license and CPR license must be attached to your application. Failure to attach these documents may result in your application being rejected.

Must meet annual educational requirements to maintain license; or will meet initial licensure requirements within first 3 years of employment. Adherence to the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics is required.

Additional Information

Minimally qualified applicants will start at 25% of the salary range:$76,046.00
