Position Summary

Positions in this sub-family are responsible for managing or performing skilled trades and lower-level apprentice craft work for construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities systems, buildings, and equipment. Responsible for performing complete operation checkout, modification, disassembly, repair, reassembly, test calibration, diagnosis, and correction of problems. Follows repair and return processes to ensure high quality and short repair and return cycle time. Sets up necessary repair and test facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repairing machinery and equipment, including but not limited to logical diagnosis of problems, identification of defective components, the disassembly of equipment, replacement of defective components, and the reassembly and startup of machinery and equipment.

  • Installs and modifies machinery and equipment, including but not limited to projects and assignments required by engineering and other personnel.

  • Maintains, troubleshoots, installs, modifies, and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment and related controls.

  • Equipment includes but is not limited to direct cablers, ring twisters, looms, treating machines, tenter frames, material handling, air compressors, pumps, motors, pollution control equipment, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, chillers, air washers and vehicles including related components, subsystems, and controls.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years related technical experience in Electrical/Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance AND Associates degree in Electrical/Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance. OR Minimum 5 years related technical experience in Electrical/Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance AND completion of 2-year post-high school technical curriculum in Electrical/Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance.

  • Must have skills including but not limited to written communication, personal computer operation, reading and interpreting electrical/ electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, ladder diagrams, PLC programs, instrumentation and piping diagrams, equipment service, and operating manuals.

  • Also must have knowledge of AC/DC motors, circuits, drives, and controls, as well as Programmable Logic Controllers, digital and analog controls, and relay logic.
