Job Description
Gary Lighthouse College Preparatory Academy is currently seeking High School GenEd and SpEd Instructional Paraprofessionals. Please submit your application for consideration or email your resume directly to Christine Ginty, at christine.ginty@lha.net.
This position is salaried and includes pay and benefits over breaks and summer.
Lighthouse Academies Paraprofessionals provide direct service to scholars under the direction of the teacher. The direct instruction is delivered in a classroom, media center, laboratory, and other settings. Consultation with teachers, parents, other professionals, and agencies may take place outside of the school.
This is a great position for aspiring teachers!
Skills & Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• 48 credit hours of college coursework or 2 years of college
• Previous experience as a Paraprofessional; experience with autistic scholars a plus
• Oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; personal organization skills.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and statutes.
• Understanding of the basic principles of explicit instruction and scholar engagement; knowledge of theory and practice of scholar learning styles.
• Computer skills including word processing, database, and spreadsheet
