Zero Labs Automotive High Voltage Systems & Software Engineer - Automotive in Gardena, California

Zero Labs is currently seeking a highly regarded hands on High Voltage Systems & Software Engineer will focus and be responsible for research, programming, coding, and high voltage systems engineering of new vehicle platforms and systems. Coding and Technology development is your passion. This vigorous role will execute current and future vehicle platforms and projects, such as Battery Management Systems, gauge cluster displays, Energy Storage Systems, Electric Motor power curves, and on-board charging systems. Applicants should be comfortable with and willing to travel as well as reporting to Zero Labs HQ in Gardenia California.

Responsibilities

  • Solid understanding of ISO 9001 / 16949 and other US and Global Automotive Standards

  • Coding experience in C or C++.

  • Knowledge of Ubuntu environment. For linux.

  • Knowledge with creating user interfaces.

  • Use for creating gauge cluster displays.

  • Mechatronics Engineer: knowledge between mechanical and programming.

  • CANBUS communication.

  • Electric Motor. Knowledge of power curves, power regeneration when braking, Inverters.

  • Battery Management Systems.

  • Knowledge to design new battery packs. Charging, layout.

  • Knowledge of sensors. What type and how to implement them in the system. i.e. pressure, heat, etc.High Voltage (HV) knowledge. In order to troubleshoot and implement solutions.

  • Low Voltage (LV) knowledge. Systems Engineer.

  • Research and gather intelligence related to all facets of local EV/automotive market as needed.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Electrical Engineering, computer science or related discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing etc.)

  • 10+ years of experience in the automotive software and/or EV industry

  • 7+ years of experience in medium to high volume production manufacturing of automobiles.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and effective relationships across technical and business teams globally.

  • Extensive experience of Automotive Quality Manufacturing standards

  • Experience with Software quality, Supply chain quality, MFG quality, UES quality (including after sales quality)

  • Proven experience with product delivery of multiple programs

  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally when needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in an Engineering / Computer Science Discipline is desirable.

  • Experience in the power electronics and automotive market

  • Excellent communication skills and team-working tendencies

  • A penchant for multi-tasking and self-starting
