Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent; no experience required.

Job Description

Performs varying standardized laboratory assignments and experiments.

Job Duties:

  • Under direct supervision, the Research Associate performs standard research assignments involving cellular signaling assays and the testing of novel compounds using in vitro pharmacology methods.

  • Sets up and conducts standard research experiments following detailed technical instructions.

  • Prepares cells, biological assays and conducts basic quantitative and qualitative analyses.

  • Maintains organized records of all tests performed and all data collected.

  • Assists in the compilation and tabulation of data and provides preliminary analyses of results.

  • Calibrates, operates and makes minor modifications to a variety of laboratory equipment as defined by appropriate guidelines.

  • Adheres to internal controls established for the laboratory and pharmacological assays.

  • Works closely with a senior scientist and the laboratory director to perform all experiments.

  • Performs related duties on additional projects as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences or Chemistry or an equivalent STEM field is required. Prior experience of 1+ years in a research laboratory is preferred; however, the candidate will be trained and no prior experience is required.

Required Skills:

  • Biological analysis of cellular signaling and the pharmacological responses to test compounds in cellular assays

  • Quantitative analysis of drug receptor interactions

  • Analysis and tabulation of experimental data

  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and micropipetting.

Preferred Skills:

  • A background in Chemistry or Biochemistry is preferred for this position

  • The ability to effectively work together as part of a research team is highly desired

  • Basic computer skills including the use of Graphpad Prism, MS Excel and familiarity with basic computational analyses is preferred

Salary Range:

$39,120-$45,000; Commensurate with Experience

Schedule: 40 hours per week
