Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent in related field and at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Job Summary:

To perform financial and operational analysis activities with an intermediate functional or organizational scope.

Department Marketing Statement :

To provide assistance in matters of financial activities including, but not limited to, Statistical Reports, Forecasting, Budget Preparation and Analysis, Patient Level Cost Analysis, Pro Forma Development, Benchmarking Activities and Data Submissions as requested or required by Senior Management of UTMB, UT Health System or the State of Texas.

Preferred Skills/Competency:

  • This position is heavily focused on cost accounting, therefore prior cost accounting experience is highly desirable.

  • Health care experience.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Excel.

  • EPSi or Qlik would be a plus.

  • Data analytics/ Data mining

Preferred Work Experience:

Three years related experience.

Job Duties:

  • Analyzes and prepares various financial reports for both internal use and as required for external agencies.

  • Examines historical and projected financial data to provide senior management with valuable data upon which to make relevant financial decisions.

  • Responsible for the coordination, preparation, and analytical review of University monthly financial reports.

  • Assist in the development and preparation of pro forma reports.

  • Assist in the development of the annual budget and forecasts.

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of Benchmarking data.

  • Assist in patient level cost analysis reporting.

  • Adheres to all departmental and organization policies and procedures as well as established internal control mechanisms.

Work Schedule:

Houston/Galveston area, partially, local remote, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Salary Range:

Actual salary commensurate with experience.
