MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

RN with Masters degree in Nursing with clinical and CNS tract requirements. Five years of clinical RN experience in appropriate specialty area required. Specialty nursing certification appropriate to specialty area assigned is required. In addition, privileges to serve as an advanced practitioner must be obtained from the Board of Nurse Examiners. Maintains certification in advanced emergency interventions when applicable to selected patientpopulations. Current license or valid permit to practice professional nursing in Texas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

ICU experience.

The clinical nurse specialist serves as practitioner, educator, consultant, and collaborator to provide advanced clinical and analytical skills in a patient population.
