Job Description

Occupational Summary

Objective:

Coordinates implementation processes of engineering changes that are generated in order to be implemented in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with the established customer and organization requirements in terms of safety, production, quality and cost to ensure customers satisfaction, managing human and material resources efficiently. Work under general surpervision. This position works under general supervision.

Authorities:

This position has the power and control to coordinate implementation processes of engineering changes across Seats, ensuring compliance with the established customer and organization requirements in terms of safety, production, quality and cost to ensure customers satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  1. Coordinate product's engineering change implementation process, coordinating with engineering planner QA, Supply Chain, Operations.

  2. Ensure rework is being processed for nonconforming product associated with engineering changes.

  3. Understand and respect the QMS interfaces with the processes in whom it interacts.

  4. Keep relevant information available as required for analysis.

  5. Participate in the continuous improvement programs established in the Organization (Example: suggestion program, lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma, AS 9100, etc.).

  6. Coordinates Changes Request (after originator does value trade analysis) with Project Engineer (Project Engineer rep), Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Program Manager, Tooling and Supply Chain.

  7. Set's serialization of Engineering Change Request based on CCB analysis of inventory levels, cost, and lead-time for planning, tooling, and sourcing.

  8. Assists in analysis for usage of parts affected and cause/effect of proposed changes.

  9. Provides process metrics to support implementation plan and to drive Continuous Improvement.

  10. Communicates Engineering Change Requests to all departments affected. This includes but not limited to: CCB containment and re-work team, Manufacturing Planning, Supply Chain, PC&L and Production.

  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

  12. Provide reporting

  13. Secure the implementation plan by organizing meetings and follow-up with stakeholders.

Qualification Requirements

A. Education & Qualification

• Bachelor degree in Engineering / Manufacturing / industrial engineering related field required or 6 related equivalent experience required.

B. Work Experience

• Requires an addition 1 year of experience with Project Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing environments.

• 1-3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.

• Experience in the ability to read and understand engineering blueprints, and parts lists preferred.

• Lean, or Six Sigma certification preferred.

• Ability to lead team projects successfully.

• Proficiency in analytics and statistics.

• Must have the ability to problem solve and think analytically.

C. Professional Skills

• Superior oral and written communication skills.

• Must be able to operate personal computer software/hardware used for communications.

• Good organizational, communication, and collaboration skills to work in the entire value stream

• Have a very good working knowledge of the standard suite of office software products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, et. al.)

D. Behavioral Skills

• Must be team oriented.

• Demonstrated effective and motivational leadership skills.

• Ability to interact with all functions of development and manufacturing process.

• Ability to influence without authority, experience in transversal/cross-teams work.

E. Desirable Aspects

• Knowledge of Process mapping interpretation, bill of materials structure, product inspection processes, assembly and manufacturing process, product specifications, product blue print interpretation, task and metrics management.

Physical Demands: This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job

Work environment: • The work environment includes office setting with moderate office noise

Specificity of the job

Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to twenty percent of the time, as required.
