Job Summary:

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is looking for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join a thriving surgical oncology practice.

Qualified Candidates:

  • The incoming provider will handle a combination of outpatient and inpatient care.

  • Outpatient duties include:

  • Managing both low and high complexity patients, presurgical evaluations, and follow-ups, addressing needs such as nutritional and gastrointestinal issues.

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the surgical oncologist.

  • Provide patient education and support, addressing concerns and questions regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and post-treatment care.

  • Perform minor surgical procedures and wound care management.

  • Monitor and document patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.

  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including oncologists, radiologists, and primary care providers.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case discussions.

  • Inpatient responsibilities involve rounding on patients independently or with the physician.

  • Potential opportunity for qualified candidates to assist in OR.

  • Ideal candidate should possess:

  • background or experience in oncology, surgical oncology, or critical care.

  • Strong clinical skills in assessing and managing oncology patients.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

  • Very minimal on-call duties expected.

  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
