Job Description:

The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFA) is currently seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an SFA Coordinator I. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying and awarding financial aid programs, ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to succeed. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

Monitoring and Processing Federal Loan Programs

  • Analyzing reports for the Alternative Educational Loan program.

  • Monitoring automated processing of loans.

  • Assisting in manual adjustments to financial aid packages.

  • Communicating with borrowers and lenders to resolve discrepancies as necessary.

Evaluating Loans

  • Determining award eligibility based on enrollment status and cost of attendance.

  • Calculating loan awards based on academic level and dependency status.

  • Assessing eligibility for borrowers nearing or at loan maximums.

  • Providing operational support to the Manager in reviewing student awards for eligibility.

Other Duties

  • Corresponding with students within Gator360 CRM about required information.

  • Participating in occasional travel for financial aid presentations and professional development workshops.

  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

    This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.

Expected Salary:

$40,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior student financial aid experience

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
