Job Description:

  • Assist with developing, coordinating, implementing, and assessing support programs such as orientation, peer mentorship, tutoring, social/networking events, or career/experiential learning opportunities.

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate veterans' support programs such as peer mentorship, tutoring, and social programming.

  • Develop strategic marketing and social media plan to engage military students.

  • Consistently update and communicate with engaging social media content, outreach efforts, and events.

  • Formalize annual campus awareness and outreach events

  • Attend and support Veteran Advisory Board meetings to update and identify practices to serve veterans.

  • Attend relevant conferences and professional development workshops as applicable.

  • Serve as point of contact for outreach, marketing, and presentation requests.

  • Provide excellent customer service for guests of the center and assist with tasking for center student assistants.

Expected Salary:

17.00

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School degree or GED equivalent

  • One year of related experience

  • Ability to demonstrate detail orientation, problem-solving, and customer service skills

  • Demonstrate professional etiquette in the office, on the phone, and in person.

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree

  • Two years of related experience

  • Experience with the University of Florida as a student or staff member

  • One or more years of experience working with student veterans or military-connected students

  • One or more years of experience managing marketing, including social media, print, video, and electronic methods

  • Proven skill to work independently, navigating complex systems/environments, and initiative to create new and/or improve existing processes
