Job Description:

The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a part-time OPS Research Coordinator I to join our dynamic team to play a pivotal role within our research office. This exciting opportunity allows for working alongside our research team to assist with the department's clinical trials that will require a team of trained individuals to conduct clinical investigations in the Department of Emergency Medicine. As such, the Research team will comprise of individuals trained in the conduct of ethical research in human subjects.

Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Reviews and develops a familiarity with the protocol, e.g., study proceedings and timelines, inclusion and exclusion criteria, confidentiality, and privacy protection requirements.

  • Conducts or participates in the informed consent process in accordance with the IRB procedures for consenting.

  • Screens subjects via EPIC electronic medical record system for eligibility using protocol-specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, documenting each potential participant's eligibility or exclusion.

  • Performs study procedure and tests in a detailed and accurate manner with supervision as described above.

  • Collects data as required by the protocol. Assures timely completion of Case Report Forms (CRFs) and shift reports.

  • Completes study documentation and maintains study files in accordance with sponsor requirements and University policies and procedures including, but not limited to, consent forms, source documentation, narrative notes if applicable, case report forms, and investigational material accountability forms, etc.

  • Assists in laboratory sample processing and shipping.

  • Attends trainings, mandatory department meetings and in-services.

  • Maintains effective and ongoing communication with the research coordinator(s) and PI during the course of the study.

Expected Salary:

$17/hr

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous research experience preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
