Job Description:
Actively engage in course production covering the following areas:
Setting up e-learning course shells in Canvas
Creating engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
Developing technically and pedagogically sound synchronous and asynchronous activities, surveys, assessments, and learning objects.
Supporting the COIP course production process in each stage of development by maintaining project documentation, assets, and course folders, meeting deadlines and adhering to protocols, and supporting subject matter experts within each phase of development.
Maintaining proficiency in current versions of Photoshop, Cloud-based collaboration tools, Adobe Acrobat and tested instructional design principles
Developing proficiency of Qualtrics, SharePoint, Articulate
Writing effective copy, instructional text, and audio/video scripts
Provide additional support for the course production process with graphic editing, developing educational interactive activities, course template design, coding and storage, html and JavaScript coding of templates, coordinating the capture of visual educational materials with knowledge of educational copyright regulations and Americans with Disabilities Act compliancy for photos, graphics, video, and web-based content.
Facilitate the COIP course production process with support for staff and faculty by demonstrating and providing the training for COIP design principles, pedagogy, compliance regulations, course goals, learning outcome tracking system and assisting to align the instructor’s objectives and vision for the course to meet the COIP quality assurance and post-production standards.
Consult with COIP staff and faculty during the active production of educational materials with emphasis and support for the following:
Course evaluation
Learning objective, practice, and assessment alignment
Identifying target audience’s instructional and training needs
Applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods
Special notes to the applicants:
Two days a week remote is an option after working in the department for 60 days, and may require periodic travel between East Campus and main campus. Must be able to start within 4 weeks of accepting official letter of offer.
Expected Salary:
$50,000-60,000
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in appropriate area and 3 years or more demonstrable instructional design / course production experience. Knowledge of various course management systems used to deliver online distance education. Experience with the integration of multimedia tools used to facilitate online education. Experience working in a collaborative team environment. Experience using and integrating current technologies in learning environments; experience using PC and Macintosh computers; experience developing supporting materials for faculty; effective oral and written communication skills; experience teaching and/or managing staff; and experience working in a postsecondary instructional setting. Formal training in online course pedagogy and standards for online education courses.
