Job Description:

  • Assist faculty, residents, and dental students chairside in the care of patients. Taking and developing x-rays. Instruction of preventive dental techniques and oral hygiene with patients. Maintain dental records in Axium.

  • Maintain operatories, stock mobiles and ensure regular maintenance of clinical equipment. Assist in organizing and controlling the use of clinic supplies and medications. Assists in sterilization of dental instruments.

  • Participates in student education of auxiliary utilization.

  • Learns new ways and methods through participating in in-service training. (i.e. required to maintain current certification in CPR, six hours of credit every two years.)

  • Assists when needed with pulling and filing of patient charts, answering of the phones and making patient appointments.

Expected Salary:

$16.27 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. CPR required upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment

  • Ability to follow written instructions and pay close attention to details

  • Knowledge of dental terminology

  • Ability to instruct patients in preventative dental techniques

  • Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices

  • Ability to deal with public in a courteous and tactful manner

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
