Assistant, Associate, Full Professor, Bone Marrow Transplant Program Director at the University of Florida.The Department of Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time faculty clinical investigator clinician-research track position for the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level. This position seeks an ABIM certified (or eligible) hematologist-oncologist with experience in hematologic malignancies and blood and marrow transplantation and an active interest in the development and conduct of clinical trials. This individual will have a primarily clinical assignment, but will also be expected to develop, conduct, and participate in clinical trials and other collaborative research involving patients with hematologic malignancies, blood and marrow transplantation, and cellular immunotherapy. Our Hematologic Malignancy/BMT/Cell Therapy group is a charter Core Center of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network for 20 years, has been FACT-accredited since 2000, is one of 12 centers in the LLS Beat AML consortium, and has had consistent growth in patient volumes, while achieving superior outcomes. Our group conducts a number of investigator-initiated clinical trials and first in human trials of BMT with dendritic cell vaccines manufactured in our Cancer Center GMP facility.

The successful candidate will ideally have the training and some experience in developing investigator-initiated clinical trials and interacting with laboratory scientists for translational research. Resources provided are competitive salary, protected time, and the resources of the Cancer Center clinical research office, which provides study coordinators, regulatory support, and biostatistical support. We have a culture that strongly supports conduct of clinical trials, and we enter nearly 15% of all new patients to treatment interventional trials.

Faculty in the UF Division of Hematology and Oncology are members of the University of Florida Health Cancer Center (UFHCC), the only NCI-designated Cancer Center in North Central Florida. The center is also the only NCI-Designated Cancer Center based at a public university in Florida. The UFHCC blends comprehensive patient care and innovative research in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, with members from 11 of the 16 colleges at the University of Florida (UF). UF is listed as one of the nation's top five public research universities, according to the 2023 Best Colleges rankings by U.S. News & World Report. U.S. News & World Report ranked UF Health Shands Hospital among the nation’s Top 50 in 9 adult and 3 pediatric specialties, including cancer (#33).

Resources available for professional development at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center include leadership, education, and research training through support from the UF Health Cancer Center, Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI), formal mentorship programs, and supported opportunities for teaching and research. Clinical research support is provided by the UF Health Cancer Center Clinical Research Office. Requisite attributes include a commitment to service, good verbal and written communication skills, a strong sense of teamwork and a desire to train tomorrow’s doctors.

The Program Director (PD) will lead all aspects of the BMT program including education, research, accreditation, and clinical programming. The BMT Director will serve as the Program Director for both adult and pediatric hematopoietic cellular therapy in accordance with FACT-JACIE Standards and other state and federal regulations. The BMT Director will provide leadership for administrative and clinical operations, compliance of program with Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapies (FACT) standards and other regulations/policies.

Applicants must be board-certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology and be eligible for a Florida Medical License.

Expected Salary:
