As an Assistant Ramp Manager, you will assist the Ramp Manager in all areas of the railyard operation including safety, administration, maintenance, train performance and productivity. A successful Assistant Ramp Manager possesses critical thinking, deadline driven, analytical, and communication skills to thrive in a rapid fast paced environment.


  • Partners with Ramp Manager to ensure KPIs are met, Train Performance, Lifts per Hour & Cost per Hour, etc.

  • Develops and drives existing staff to enhance Engagement & Retention within the Ramp

  • Builds collaborative partnerships between ConGlobal and local railroad officers

  • Acts as key point of contact between ConGlobal and our customers

  • Enforces and upholds all ConGlobal rules, regulations, and policies

  • Approaches violations with care and administers disciplinary actions when required

  • Monitors and approves terminal purchases for payment & manages purchases within budget

  • Approves weekly time & attendance and ensures data is accurate and timely

  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to ensure the Ramp is fully staffed

  • Owns the Training and Orientation process of all employees to ensure their ongoing success

  • Provides Ramp Metrics & Reports as needed

  • Other duties as assigned (administrative & non-administrative)

  • 1-3 years of previous management experience

  • Must have exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills

  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience in intermodal, transportation, logistics or warehousing operations

  • Strong Work Ethic

  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
