Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical Inpatient Full Time Nights

Fast-paced, high volume Medical Surgical department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 N Dallas Parkway Frisco, TX 75033

Work hours: Full Time Nights (7a-7p). Weekend and holiday requirements

Department highlights:

  • 30-bed General Medical Surgical Tele unit - 20 beds on 5th floor and 10 bed overflow consisting of mostly surgical patients – fast paced, quick turnover

  • Experience with tele, surgical, plastics, bariatrics, spine highly preferred. COVID unit for hospital.

1:5 patient ratio, PCT for every 10-15 patients

Here’s What You Need

  • Nursing Diploma

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program

  • BSN preferred

  • One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.

  • One year of Emergency experience strongly preferred

  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

  • BCLS - upon hire - expiration date greater than 3 months preferred

  • ACLS - upon hire required

  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 60 days of hire

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient

  • Plans the care of the patient

  • Intervenes as appropriate

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
