Fairview Health Services Medical Assistant - Mental Health & Addiction Clinic in Fridley, Minnesota

Overview

M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant (MA/CMA/RMA/LPN) at the Mental Health and Addiction Clinic located in Fridley, Minnesota.

This is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week/80 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible position.

$4000 New Hire sign-on bonus is offered

Responsibilities/Job Description

As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant provides professional, quality medical care to patients; partners with clinic staff and clinicans to perform daily patient visits, including rooming patients, assisting clinicians with procedures, administrating medications and accurately documenting in the clinic electronic health record. Performs job responsibilities following established clinic protocols and procedures.

Escorts patients to exam room and appropriately documents information.

Prepares and administers medications and injections as directed by a clinician.

Demonstrates and promotes understanding of high quality patient care; utilizes evidence based

medicine and partners with provider and clinic staff to reach M Health Fairview clinical quality measures.

Performs laboratory specimen collection and processing to ensure the accurate and appropriate

performance of patient testing while maintaining patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality.

Types memos, documents, reports, committee minutes, etc., for the department's director and staff.

Attends meetings and takes minutes to ensure an accurate record of meeting. Prepares meeting

materials for department staff.

Compiles data for department statistical reports so that the director may develop reports regarding

department function, services, etc

Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and

standards.

Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.

Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed through the MN Board of Nursing

  • Current BLS certification required upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a clinic setting

  • Willingness and ability to work at other locations as determined by business needs

Vaccination Update

Current employees must have completed both vaccination schedules on or before October 31, 2021.Beginning August 9, 2021, any new hires who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to receive their first dose prior to their start date and their second dose (if receiving Moderna or Pfizer vaccines) within 4 weeks of their start date.
