Meggitt PLC HR Business Partner in Fribourg, Switzerland

Part of the Parker Group, Meggitt is a global engineering group specialised in extreme environment components and smart sub-systems for aerospace, defence and energy markets. Some 9’000 people are employed across manufacturing facilities in Asia, Europe and North America and regional bases in Brazil and in India.

Meggitt SA in Fribourg’s site employs 400 employees and develops, manufactures and sells world-wide a complete range of transducers and electronic systems for the monitoring of engines, turbines and other rotating machinery in both the aerospace and energy industries.

To further strengthen our “Human Resources” department, we are currently looking for a “HR Business Partner”.

The Position

As “ HR Business Partner ” you will be accountable to work closely with our people managers to operate at a policy making and tactical level to design, deliver and evaluate HR initiatives that enable them to achieve their business objectives. You will also responsible to provide proactive and pragmatic support to line management and employees in the implementation and follow-up of HR processes and policies. You will also provide leadership and execution of the end-to-end recruiting cycle for national & international recruitment on various positions

The main responsibilities for this role are:

  • Partner with Line Managers to design and develop their organization in line with business objectives

  • Assist managers in building up a positive work environment based on our values

  • Manage the complete hiring process from job design, candidates sourcing, screening to offers and onboarding, including advice and support employees in their relocation or assignment to Switzerland or any host site

  • Assist line managers in identifying skills gaps between current and future organization: identify, develop and roll out staffing and employee development strategies to attract and retain the best employees

  • Together with our people managers, be responsible of employees lifecycle, including on-boarding, development, transfers/promotions, international assignments and departures

  • Assist managers in the resolution of employee relation issues such as behavior, capability, performance, level of absence, etc.

  • Provide customer service to employees and people managers by answering questions related to interpretation of company policies and procedures

  • Support the various functional and administrative requirements of the HR department

  • Act as a trusted business partner and coach for our people managers, thoroughly challenging the status quo and fostering a continuous improvement culture across our site; Help build a process driven organization with clear roles and responsibilities across the site

  • Set clear performance management processes and assist managers in their implementation (MBO, performance appraisals, development review, PIP)

  • Take full ownership of the talent review process for assigned functions, including succession planning, retention plans for high impact roles, specific development plans for high potentials

  • Lead and/or participate to HR Projects as per HR Calendar and HR Project list

    Your Profile

  • Degree in Business Administration, Work Psychology, HR brevet or equivalent

  • At least 5 years of experience in similar role with exposure to business within a multinational company

  • Proven work experience in recruitment

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable

  • Fluent in French and English, Spanish or German would be an asset

  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases

  • At ease with IT tools, knowledge of SAP and/or Success Factors solution

  • Open-minded personality with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Structured and organized, team-player, accountable & with sense of responsibility as well as customer orientation
